You probably already came across solar modules or solar panels \u2013 but how exactly do they work? These solar cells are set in series connection which is being realized by soldering the connectors on to the brick solar module (part of our new solar set).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brickrknowledge.de\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12437\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickrknowledge.de\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set-300x287.jpg\" alt=\"solar_set\" width=\"300\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brickrknowledge.eu\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set-300x287.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brickrknowledge.eu\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set-768x734.jpg 768w, https:\/\/brickrknowledge.eu\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set-600x574.jpg 600w, https:\/\/brickrknowledge.eu\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set-335x320.jpg 335w, https:\/\/brickrknowledge.eu\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set-345x330.jpg 345w, https:\/\/brickrknowledge.eu\/content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/solar_set.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are rigid modules and flexible ones.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexible modules are based on organic substances.<\/li>\n<li>The structure of a rigid solar module is as follows: It consists of solar cells based on silicon that are mounted on an aluminum frame and covered by a glass plate. The glass plate saves the solar cells from hail, for example.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A photovoltaic system involves a number of solar modules that are called \u201esolar generator\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>There are on-grid and off-grid photovoltaic systems.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Off-grid means independant of main power supply. This could be a satellite run by solar energy, for example.<\/li>\n<li>On-grid means that the generated power is fed into the power supply. This is realized with the help of an inverter. The inverter needs power to synchronize with the power grid.
